But it’s not enough.
Relevant professional development is an important part of welcoming trans clients, customers, and colleagues. But from intake forms and IT systems to dress codes to the language we use, most organizations are not set up with transgender, nonbinary, and gender-expansive people in mind. To be equitable and increase engagement, organizations need to shift the unspoken assumptions on which their ways of operating are built.
I help employers, health and wellness providers, educators, social services organizations, faith communities, and businesses of all types understand how their ways of operating may be unintentionally excluding transgender and gender-expansive people.
